Repair methods 2 - short patch repairs
- When the chains pair-up, key goes with lock; hook with eye.
Supposing the damage essentially removes a whole letter - in this case one of the keys.
- One of the keys is missing.
It's rather difficult to simply stick another key back on. So instead the cell removes a couple of links of the chain ....
- The links with the damaged base have been removed.
And then heals the break by applying a short patch which includes a replacement key ...
